Skill schools for rural youth - would I like my child to be a part of it?

A lot of talks have been making rounds for years now, about the skill development of the rural youths so as to make them self reliant and able earners, unfortunately when it comes to the rural youth, the skills imparted are the ones, people look down upon, in our creatively stratified social world.
In any skill school , even if it's for rural youth, the traits taught should facilitate the youth to reach their potential and explore the limits thereafter.
What I feel is this that education is the biggest skill and with the booming economy it's a never before opportunity for us to exploit it to the maximum. I am myself sad at my own experience of been given to conceptualise a skill school for rural youth, aiming to make them self reliant- I made one and but alas! the skills I suggested were the ones I would never allow my own dear and near ones to be trained into.
I am writing all this because I am feeling guilty, firstly because I couldn't think innovatively, secondly I have no right to tell a rural youth, especially educated, to become a carpenter, tailor, plumber etc. etc. whereas his peer(equally or even less potent) is studying engg or some other professional courses somewhere else and third and most importantly I am not stoking the fire of the youths this way, thus empowering them with dreams, but am restricting even them.

I feel rural youth at present for sure needs the skill development schools, but skills have to be dream enablers- enterprenurship skills, language skills, computer hardware and software skills etc. are a few examples.

I welcome anyone who has an input here.................let's begin- for a change.
