Every time he is down and out, he does something more outrageous, enough to make people believe he is no more ....and than he comes out blazing guns at you, as if telling- there's something more than mere talent - you need, to succeed in life....
I have loved his game so much, I think 2005 AO semi-final was the best tennis match I ever saw, not only this but that was the only time I saw a game better than that of Federrer, coz Federrer was at his best in that match, but it was Safin who outclassed him with the best play his life, even gods rewarded him for that by bestowing him with AO 2005...... the only other time he held a trophy was when he beat the ledgendry "Pistol Pete" at peak.......speaks volumes for the guy
I am able to relate so very well with Safin ... for obvious reasons......I'd like to see him beat Federrer and top it with a Nadal win....it probably will be the last major win for him (though I wish the opposite)....but even if he doesn't do that, Safin has again proved me right with such a beautiful exhibition of his talents on the most difficult surface (for him) and in the most prestigious tournament.....
